Addressing Missed Emiratisation Targets (2025 - 2026) M A K I N G E M I R AT I S AT I O N A S U C C E S S 2 0 2 5 - G U I D E B O O K 6 0 Updated Contribution & Payment Mechanism Private sector companies that do not achieve their required Emiratisation targets must remit a monthly contribution for each UAE National not employed, as per the following structure: Grace Period for Non-Compliance In the event that an Emirati employee resigns or is terminated, this results in an imbalance in the ratio expected to comply. Therefore, the entity is given a two-month grace period to compensate for each loss of a UAE national in the facility: • 60 days to rehire after the first notice. • 30 days to rehire after the second notice. Failure to re-achieve the required ratio and numbers within the compensation period will subject the facility to a monthly contribution retroactively, based on the shortfall. The UAE government continues to uphold a strict regulatory framework for private sector entities that do not comply with Emiratisation targets. In alignment with MoHRE’s updated compliance mechanism, companies are required to meet their Emiratisation obligations on a semi-annual basis. Failure to comply results in mandatory financial contributions.
