The original target set by the UAE National Human Resources Competitiveness Council (‘NAFIS’) aimed to place 75,000 Emiratis in private sector jobs between 2022 and 2026. This goal has been surpassed ahead of schedule, demonstrating strong employer participation and increasing interest from UAE Nationals in private-sector roles. Progressive Increase in UAE National Employment in the Private Sector • Labour mobility rate in the private sector reached 9% in 2024, indicating a dynamic and evolving workforce. • 99% of private sector workers are now registered under the Wage Protection System (WPS), ensuring transparency and compliance in salary payments. • More than 95% of companies are fully compliant in providing genuine employment opportunities to UAE Nationals. • Since the launch of NAFIS in September 2021, more than 96,000 UAE Nationals have entered private sector employment through the program.
