Fall hit with a busy back-to-school and sports schedule. Our kids decided to try a hybrid homeschool program this year, and they have enjoyed the mix of learning between school and home. They have also been trying out a few new sports this year. This fall, I was able to coach Carson’s soccer team, the Mighty Giraffes (by majority vote). In between the countless ‘water breaks and various other distractions, he was able to score a few goals! Calvin has been enjoying Taekwondo and attended his first tournament last month, where he took first place in combat sparring and third place in both traditional sparring and weapons. He does get a lot of practice at home sparring upstairs with his brother! The highlight of fall was going on a kid-free vacation with Sarah to Costa Rica for a week with two other couples. We went from the rainforest to the Arenal Volcano and finished at the beach. We were able to enjoy the diverse landscapes, food, and activities of the three regions. If you have never been, I highly recommend visiting it. My wife and I hit some big milestones on the home front: our 18th wedding anniversary and her 40th birthday! We celebrated in style with a family getaway to Broken Bow, renting a cozy cabin for the week. Hiking, laughing, and creating memories we'll cherish forever was the perfect recharge. Here's to more adventures ahead! RFG Stories - Mike Lemich
